I hope you, your family, and your loved ones are well.
This year marks my 16th year at Florida Institute of Technology, the last three during which I’ve had the great privilege to serve as president. While we’ve experienced growth and many changes over that time, one thing has remained constant: the relentless and unwavering support from people like you, especially in challenging times. It is during situations like these that I am always reminded of the pride I feel to be part of the Florida Tech family.
Since COVID-19 has impacted our daily lives, many of you have reached out to ask how you can support our students. In the weeks and months ahead, some of our students will face new and overwhelming challenges related to this pandemic.
May 5th, our Special Giving Day will support current students by assisting with unexpected, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency expenses due to the COVID-19 crisis. Your gift today will be matched up to $30,000 by the Board of Trustee members and a very generous commitment from Indiafest.
I want to thank Bill Jurgens, VP University Relations, for his leadership in chairing this effort.
The days and weeks ahead will test our collective strength, but we have shown time and time again that our Florida Tech community always rises to a challenge.
Please join Mary Helen and me in giving today.
